Lyme

Lyme disease can be a chronic or acute condition. Lyme disease is typically spread from a bite from a tick but can also be spread from a mosquito. Acute Lyme commonly has a bullseye rash around the bite. When your immune system is strong, you can fight off the bacteria Borrelia burgdorferi with no significant symptoms noticed by the individual. For individuals who do not have a stellar immune function, the result of a tick bite with Lyme could be devastating. Acute illness symptoms commonly follow the bite. Fever and fatigue are two big clues that something is going on.

Testing for Lyme disease can also be tricky if your doctor does not order the right test at the right time. Common acute Lyme tests are the Western Blot test with a confirmation, elevated CBC, and usually elevated CRP and SED rate.
